FINANCIAL AID DISPLACEMENT ADVISORY

Your financial aid is affected by many factors, including your Cost of Attendance, Student Aid Index (SAI) as determined by the FAFSA, and aid you may receive apart from federal aid programs such as Pell and Direct Loans.

In order to maximize any gift aid you may be eligible for and avoid aid reductions, we recommend:

· Filing your FAFSA or TASFAA early- this will ensure that you are considered for any available aid, as some gift aid is a limited allocation awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

· Limit changes in enrollment as much as reasonably possible, as programs such as the Pell Grant pay out based on your actual enrollment level, and must be adjusted if your enrollment is changed.

· Report any scholarships or other aid that you will be or expect to receive from a source that is not South Plains College as early as possible, as reporting funding late may require adjustments to your aid offer.

· If you are selected for verification, pay close attention to your SPC email address and complete all required steps with Inceptia to ensure that the process is completed as soon as possible, as changes to your SAI as a result of verification require adjustments to your aid offer!
